Ukrainian “thief-in-law” Sergey Lysenko is released from custody

Today the Dneprovsky District Court of the city of Kiev issued a measure of restraint in the form of recognizance not to leave for “thief-in-law” Sergey Lysenko who is known in the criminal world under nickname Lera Sumskoy. He was released from custody after preventive talk with officers of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, says Elena Melnik, press secretary of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, to Prime Crime News Agency.

As Prime Crime News Agency informed before, on March 11 special operation by personnel of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in Kiev, and the “Sokol” fast response personnel at the “Ukraine” Hotel in Kiev frustrated a criminal meeting organized by Lera Sumskoy where criminals aimed to redistribute criminal influence zones in Western and Central Ukraine. Lysenko and 8 other “thieves-in-law” from Russia and Ukraine were detained under Article 185 of the Administrative Offense Code for malicious disobedience to police officers. During personal search metadon narcotic was found with Lera and he was detained for 3 days under Article 115 of the Criminal Procedural Code. Further a criminal case was started against Lysenko for a crime envisaged by part 1 Article 309 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (storage of narcotic substances).

Now Lysenko has to stay at his registration address in the Sumskaya region and appear at first summon of an investigator or the Dneprovsky Police Department of the city of Kiev for investigation activities under the criminal case.
